What are good colleges for majoring in engineering?

so i want to major in engineering.. or maybe architecture.

i know i have over a 3.7 gpa. and my current SAT score is 1880 (will take another test and hopefully raise my score -___- )

so.. what are some good colleges or universities that have a strong engineering program that i might have a chance of getting into and which colleges have a higher acceptance rate?

thank you :D
uhh.. i want to major in civil or environmental engineering~ :P

There are over two hundred colleges/universities with decently good programs in Engineering. ABET does a pretty good job of only accrediting good programs.

The “best” school for you is one you get go into, but is not so difficult that you are likely to flounder and fail. ie you’re not likely to do well at MIT.

You really need to indicate which type of Engineering you want to study. There are some “hidden gems” which are both good and likely to accept you. Some candidates for your consideration:

Capitol College (Electrical)
San Jose State (Several)
Rowan University (Chemical)
Bucknell College (Chemical, Civil)
Manhattan College (Chemical)
Kettering (Mechanical)
Michigan Tech (Several)

Also, if your math is not the best, consider Engineering Technology rather than pure Engineering:

Oregon Institute of Technology (Several)
San Jose State (Electronics & Computer [NAIT accredited])
Capitol College (Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications)
SUNY-Institute of Technology (Civil)

First we shape things, then they shape us, was Churchill''s view. What kind of architecture can be said to shape? Who does it shape? And by what means does it shape? The author''s answers to these questions are a surprise. Through war and proximity to stress. After a tour d''horizon through Roman temples, Washington''s corridors of power and Mecca''s anti-panic architecture it becomes clear that architecture is anything but in the background. Instead it is situated in the hot spot of transmission dynamics and is capable of altering cultures, empires and even religions.
Architecture Sourcebook Vol. 3: Architecture Based Assessments Architecture Sourcebook Vol. 3: Architecture Based Assessments
$77.1

The purpose of this volume is to present a framework for incorporating architecture based DOTMLPF assessments into the JCIDS and DoD acquisition processes. It presents a recommended set of assessments across the seven domains, describing the information and data needed to conduct each assessment, the standard architecture products that may contain the required information and data, the expected output of the assessment, and the general nature of the assessment (i.e., Objective or Subjective). The presentation is not meant to be inclusive of all potential DOTMLPF or architecture related assessments that may be performed as a part of the JCIDS process. Rather, it is meant to generate discussion and thought, leading to further refinement and development of the ideas and concepts presented.

$18.92

Personnel: Markus Popp, Jan St. Werner (electronics).Recording information: Kaaitheaterstudio, Brussels, Belgium (2000).Like the other volumes in the Invisible Architecture series, this one by Microstoria is short (under 40 minutes) and has been assembled from the duo`s live performance at the event in Brussels, summer 2000. Unlike Microstoria`s previous releases, though, it presents music that is of a much more ambient nature. If you envision the association of Markus Popp and Jan St. Werner as a tug of war between their respective projects (Oval and Mouse on Mars), then for this album Popp won. His glitchy (de)constructions and sedated atmospheres dominate the music. That is not to say St. Werner goes unnoticed. His odd samples (toy guitar in "Soso Sound"?) and flawed reconstructed melodies give the tunes their soul. Each track sounds like it has been cut, pasted, recut, digitally stretched, tied in a knot, and replaced. Samples and cycles are jerky and rough-edged, yet the music holds on to its soothing feel. Is the title of the last track, "Endless Summer NAMM," winking at Fennesz`s album Endless Summer? It should, because his influence would be hard to deny. Invisible Architecture No. 3 is a smooth ride on a gravel road. ~ Fran¿ois Couture Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005. For personal use only. All rights reserved.
